Artist Keith Parkinson passes away

Wow- This post completely caught me by surprise, as I can see it did many others here. Truly a loss- along with the other "Fab Four", Parkinson did as much (IMO) to make D&D the game it is as any of the various rules sets did. Rest in Peace, Keith. You will be missed, but not forgotten.

God bless, Keith.

Why is it we never seem to hear about these sicknesses until after the passing away? I understand the "don't want pity" thing, but I for one would have liked to be able to tell Keith "so long, and thanks for all the art."

Sad day. :(
Parkinson was my favorite of the 'classic' artists. His cover of the Spider Queen Series was definitely fantastic. Same goes for Lord Soth's Charge.

A truly talented man.

My goodness that is so sad, what a loss. One of the great icons of the institution that is Dungeons & Dragons.

Sincerest condolences to family and friends.

What a legacy he has left behind. So many defining moments he has captured for us with his imagination.

Thanks Keith, for so many wonderful memories.

My condolences to his family, he will be missed.

He was one of the great ones, helping to bring our fantasies to life and give vision to words. The piece that most stands out, to me, is his cover for Fire Sea, book two of the Death Gate Cycle. I gives a great "We're soooo screwed" atmosphere.

I have to mention the very first painting I ever saw from Keith: the cover for the original T1-4: The Temple of Elemental Evil. I was 12 and that blew me away.

Time to rest the brush and cover the canvas.

:(

What a slap to the face this news is today. I had no idea about his illness. I'm greatful to have met the man and had him sign a couple art prints of his at GenCon '03.

His art will inspire me and other gamers forever and that is the greatest legacy an artist could hope for. RIP Keith. You've earned it.
