Ascetic Knight

So it sounds like you're going for a more monkish build than a paladin-y build...what are you hoping to get from the paladin side of the build?

Since I would be wearing heavy armor, I would take spell reflection instead of normal evasion, mythril will free up dexterity allowing me to use it a few times a day. I can buy a ring of evasion Basically the stuff in which ascetic knight allows me to stack with monk levels lay on hands and smite. Lay on hands power the devastating touch attack. As I said then full out gray guard.

Alternative idea if you want to be a debilitator/debuffer and use intimidate a lot... Some combination of Sorcerer with monk and possibly a paladin dip (if you really don't care about your caster level...) going into enlightened fist or some more generic fighter/mage prestige class (Abjurant Champion is excellent). Use the Ascetic Mage feat to make your monk abilities based on charisma and pump that up instead of wisdom.

This still seems jumbled to me...partly because I'm not familiar with the PrCl you're aiming for.

  1. Is the PC primarily armored or unarmored?
  2. Is he fighting armed or unarmed?
  3. What particular monk abilities do you need?
  4. What particular Paladin abilities do you need?

1. Armored
2. Unarmed
3. Unarmed progression, stunning fist, and ki abilities
4. Smite, lay on hands, and divine grace

Not really sure why you need those paladin abilities, and "ki abilities" is a little vague....

Consider doing Monk 1 / Cleric / Crusader 1 / Ruby Knight Vindicator 10, with a level of Contemplative thrown in somewhere. If not in 3.5, the 3.0 Contemplative gave access to a domain with the basic equivalent of divine grace. Again, you're creating some pretty crazy multiple ability dependency with all the things you want... The cleric casting gives BETTER healing than lay on hands, and if you really, truly need lay on hands type ability, at level 7 a cleric can get the "pool of healing" variant from C.Champion. Trade permanently a level 4 spell slot per day to get a lay on hands-adjacent ability to heal (caster level +1) x5 per day. Since it's based on obtaining spell level 4 and not any solid cleric class feature, you could probably convince the DM to let you get it even though you'll never hit cleric 7.

Tome of Battle classes like Crusader gives strike maneuvers to do good damage with pretty much any weapon. Crusader just happens to have a prestige class that advances cleric casting along with maneuvers, so I chose that one. Crusader's also similar in theme to paladin. The Superior Unarmed Strike feat in that book will help keep your unarmed damage up.

Get your hands in Dragon #317: it contains James Wyatt's 3.5 update to his material in Oriental Adventures (you'll need that book, too). The updated Shaman has the same IUC progression as the Monk. It doesn't have Ki abilities, or the other benefits the Monk adds to his UC, but this class is a better fit for your goals: it wears some armor, has full casting of spells & domains, and a form of turning. It also has no MC restrictions.

This means that even though you wouldn't be able to advance your Paladin class, your unarmed striking class will be freely advanceable, and you can use a feat for something else.

Then you just take the stunning fist feat. If you want FoB, take a level or 2 of the Shou Disciple PrCl which is a flurrying, armored PrCl without any Monk prereqs.

Could you give full out detail of the shou disciple then? I do not have that great of a connection to download the Unapproachable East it is huge compared to other books in space.

I can't do that- against my professional code of ethics.

I'll say this: you'll probably only need one level of it. This site lists the prereqs: http://www.realmshelps.net/cgi-bin/prestige2.pl?Shou_Disciple

As an alternative if you can't get UE, consider the Sohei if you get Dragon #317: that class' Ki Frenzy combines elements of FoB and Rage.
