They seem to have poor Aglaia, the priestess of Hyrag from town, chained to the wall and beaten and whipped, her holy symbol of Hyrag around her neck shattered, and her vestments ripped and ruined.

Ironwolf looks at the scene with suspicion, more than a little under the impression that Aglaia duped the party into making the problem worse. Another trick?

On his turn, Ironwolf will move 20' into the room while full defending. Helping to establish a defensive line between the afflicted and the casters, he hopes that it will be the afflicted desperate to close the distance.

"Light 'em up! Let's have some blasting to soften up those big fellows."

"Maybe...Twelve of them is a fairly powerful force, but we've fought worse before. And look at the way they've set themselves up...It's almost like they want us to blast them, but to make it as inefficient as possible while still keeping a good defense. It's quite possibly designed to waste our power--and of course if we do not do so and you close in with them, their formation is such that you can threaten at most two at once, and then they can close in on you and bash you senseless. It's a good strategy for our opponent assuming that these twelve are not the real fight, though it is fairly stupid for them if the twelve actually are the real fight, since as you say, we can blast them from a distance, and they can't approach us easily through the chokepoint of the door."

"Hmm, we're going to keep pumping out constructs instead, just in case. At least the puppets are reusable."

"Very well, whatever you feel is efficient. Have the puppets advance ahead of us, so that they take the brunt of any traps and hamper any encircling tactics."

Ironwolf finds it interesting that Zaeryl expects advances tactics from the afflicted, and wonders if an energy ray or two would break their formation... or maybe a few ranged attacks.

"Perhaps it would be wise to throw a very low power energy attack, to test if this room can deflect or redirect such attacks?"

Surely, a single power point would not expend too much energy, and it might prove to deliver important information.

"A good idea, but we're in the middle of conjuring the next one--the time it takes to send the ray is more of an opportunity cost than the ray itself. Just make sure nothing interrupts the growing power. Perhaps someone else would care to do so? Arcane and divine spells, which have a set power anyway, might be a good choice."

(OOC: So Eternity and Almayce get to go now, along with Zaeryl's constructs)

*Zaeryl's two constructs charge forward towards the Afflicted and they each attack the same one, knocking it just barely unconscious between the two of them.*

"I would hope that these twelve are the real fight. Maybe they're just desperate.", Almayce says and casts Bless (+1 to attack rolls).

OOC: Do the people farther away look like they carry armor and/or weapons?

(OOC: They don't seem like they carry weapons or armour, no. They might just be villagers--Almayce can't make out the details easily because he is at -10 to Spot at that distance (it's easy enough to see that they are there even so, but fine details are tougher) )

ooc: keeping Eternity.

Eternity has a particular trick up her sleeve, but prefers to wait until melee has begun in earnest. For the moment she'll delay until the large afflicted begin advancing.
