Guarding against his dragon-souled foe's chaotic assault, Samidare pounds the watery rice paddy with a thundering blow, sending a fountain of water upward to knock Ash'lon from the sky.

Ciaran remains in the rat stance. Edging forward, he prepares a block against the thrusting attack he's come to expect from Ash'lon, then sweeps in low with an ankle-height roundhouse kick.

"How fitting of you to use the rat style, Samidare. It looks funny, though, maybe I should try it too." Ash'lon laughs as he shoots out several tiny nails from his hand, before casting a ward spell.

"What a strange stance!" taunts Samidare. "I would call that 'Phoenix Devours the Castle.' Do you like eating rocks? If you do, I’ll gladly rub your face into the dirt."

Snatching up a staff, Samidare whirls it so swiftly that it scatters the fiery assault. Then he grasps the now-blazing staff firmly and, upon finding an opening in Ash'lon's unremitting but haphazard defense, attempts to thrust it so far down his opponent's throat that its tip lodges in the icy socket where Ash'lon once kept his heart.
