Attacking Squirrels in DnD

I have gotten within two feet of a squirrel by accident on one of my daily walks earlier this spring. The creature was frozen at the base of a large oak tree and I had spotted it about ten feet earlier. I slowly walked right by the squirrel and the tree while trying not to make a sound to spook it away. It eyed me the whole time but stayed frozen as a statue. If I had a throwing dagger and the skill to use one, I probably could have pinned it to the tree.

Well if a rabbit can tear through a dozen or so knights in a matter of seconds, then a squirrel should be proportionately nasty. Even before using a Holy Hand Grenade.

What about the carnivorous squirrels from 1st Edition (MMII)? Has anyone updated them to 3.x yet or maybe d20 Modern? :]

However I do recall some squirrels displaying semi-aggressive(?) behavior by dropping acorns on students. Maybe its just an East Texas thing or they picked up some (much cleaner) tricks from the pigeons.

True Story

I was walking under a tree in San Antonio and I heard this high-pitched barking sound.

There was this male squirrel working his way down the trunk at me, barking and puffing up his fur. He was PISSED!

Now, I know I had something like 190lbs on the fella, but they're fast and their jaws are MAD strong (and rabies is a possibility)...so I just kept moving and let him have something to brag about.

Bet he got some tail that night!
