Starship Cartographer
I'm making up a new character (5th level bard) and would like to use a heavy repeating crossbow. My main concern is the 5 shot-limit on the magazine (and it taking a full round action to replace that thing). Are there ways to get around that, or increase the size of the magazine?
I'm concerned that with Rapid Shot and Haste, the weapon runs dry before the end of the second round (3 shots in round 1, and only 2 bolts left for round two - and this is before I've even gotten to iterative attack levels).
I know I could take Rapid Reload and scale down to a light crossbow, but I'd like to find a way to stick with the exotic weapon if possible.
Would Rapid Reload, Quick Draw, or any feat(s), help to reduce the reload time for the magazine? Does it matter if I have spare magazines handy? Is there a magic item that covers this ("Heward's Handy Crossbow Loader"
