Beast Shape I

I'm preparing to run my first Pathfinder campaign, and have started finding some questions. First off: Does Beast Shape I grant size modifiers to hit and AC? If I'm medium-size, and I turn into a small eagle, do I get the +1 size bonus to AC for being small?

If so, why isn't this specified in the spell description? It's specifically mentioned in Enlarge/Reduce Person.

Any time you change size you adjust.

I think the reason that is not called out here, but is in Reduce Person, is that Reduce Person always makes you smaller, so it always applies. With Beast Shape, a halfling becoming a small animal wouldn't change, but a human would, while a halfling becoming a medium animal would change and the human would not.

It is not consistent, so it is left out of the specific rules of the spell and left to the general size change rules.
