Same here. In fact, until reading this thread it never even occurred to me to say it that way.

Anyway, I heard The Rules Lawyer say today that he pronounced BECMI as "Beck-me". I've always said "B, E , C, M, I" saying each letter. That's how I remember it when it came out.

How do you say it?

I think I used to spell it out/pronounce it the same way as you when I was a kid and teenager, which supports your recollection from back in the day.

I think I first encountered the "beck-me" pronunciation (and the "beck-'em" variant) in the OSR a few years ago, and I adopted it as more euphonious.
