It is really remarkable (and positive) to see the Human Fighter as a reasonable choice for a class in this edition. It's always been a favorite and the long years of 3.X definitely took the luster off of it.

Tha tbeing said, I think it might weell be the best overall choice as well (in tight competition with the Dwarf).

I do have to agree with this. The fact that Human is brought up to the table as a reasonable choice for most classes is a positive thing.

Third the nomination. Our group has two "power players" (myself and one other), we both think humans rock, and the others raise there eyebrows and wonder why...

I personally laughed at Deadpool saying he didn't like Warforged, and that they were Eberron-specific, then going on to say a Shifter was A-OK.

I have no idea what Deadpool has to do with any of this.

And if you took notice of what I was saying, I also abhor the Longtooth Shifter. But as a core PHB 1/2 race, it's in the running whether I like it or not. Warforged is not a core PHB 1/2 race and therefore is not in the running.

I consider the Devoted Challenge (MP) feat to be a big point in favor of dwarves. Dwarven Durability is always nice, too.

I liek teh Dwarfs. Teh heal as a minor action and doesnt afraid of anything.

I nearly choose Dwarf (their Staying Power rocks), but I voted Dragonborn in the end because of his breath (awesome multimarking ability) and his high Strengh makes his attacks (and riders) hit more often and he is more dangerous to ignore.

Goliaths seem like ... welll they are wannabes ... they arent big enough to actually be a giant, and not stronger than a strong human... And there skin gets magically hard once per encounter??..and there arms stretch at 11th level as a paragon path??...meh... what the heck is that supposed to mean!?

I just dont buy them... out of the box they dont feel right ... then patch work on top.

Goliath's racial power is good. And so as Dwarf's. Still, I vote for Human mainly because +1 to all NADs.

The first thing a fighter should avoid is ... being incapacitated in some way. There are so many vs NADs attacks which lenders a fighter almost incapacitated. Also, human has some nice racial feats related to saves.

Also, basically, Fighter class requires only 1 main stats (Str). Thus, good for human. Other ability scores will contribute to various builds and tactics. Still, fighter is not a dual-ability-score class.
