BG and PS:T soundtrack ... similarities?

I don't know the original Mechwarrior soundtrack, but I used to listen to Mechwarrior 2 all the time.
And yeah, the PS:T soundtrack is pretty sweet...I ripped it from the game several years ago. I had a program that converted the game's sound files to wav format, I believe. Some of the tracks had to be assembled from pieces (the battle music), but most were already intact.
And I thought BG referred to Baldur's Gate as well...I don't need to rip the soundtrack for that, because I bought the package with the original game, the expansion, and the soundtrack because I owned the original game, but missed the expansion when it came out, and one day I found the set for a pretty low price.
