D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

I tended to go with "you choose" for this kind of choice (although I was all ready to stake Astarion if he chose wrong). I suspect it is tied to reputation, or some hidden alignment-meter.

Not truly a spoiler, but the game (bought for PS5 since Mac release took so long) has done one impossible thing so far: Made me actually interested in FR, which I have bounced hard off of for 30 years, despite my best efforts. The portrayal of the Realms is fantastic, dark, mysterious, and intriguing. Rosymorn Monastery is when I really had to accept that my distaste was dissipating.
Same for me. But it was Act II that did it. I still hate the FR gods. Even more so, now. But now I kinda like to hate them. The setting itself is still far from my favorite but my hatred for it vanished.

I agree that this game is the best-ever treatment I've seen of FR, although TBH I enjoy 5E's treatment of FR in general more than the 1E-3E versions (never experienced 4E).

So I got to Nightsong. Killing Balthazar was a pain but man Ranger Karlach was MVP. Even blind and disadvantage on saves she took out him and like 4 of his minions solo. Everyone else died in Cloud Kill spells.

Also, Shadowheart had to decide to forsake Shar or not and I guess she might have done it on her own? I passed a DC 30 persuasion check to help her a long but that felt like maybe I robbed her of the choice. Does she choose not to kill her on her own?

Also I guess Shar isn’t to mad since she still grants SH her clerical spells.

If Shadowheart rejected Shar, her spells are now actually coming from somebody else. Takes Shadowheart a bit to admit this, though.

Yeah, it is annoying. The only storage item I could see a good argument for is the keychains, in case a companion had picked up the key to a door you need to open.
Or just have only the player character carry the keys/have a keyring.

Anyhow, I proceeded tonight with my party before the update (Shadowheart, Gale, Lae-zel), to not worry about the bug/feature. For 5th level, I gave Shadowheart a level in Rogue and think I no longer need Astarion for rogue duty. Don’t see any real use for Wyll.

If I were allowed 5 or 6 characters, #5 would be Karlach and #6 would be Halsin. I haven’t adventured with Halsin pre-bug, as it happened for me after the party.

Anybody try the mod for more than 4 characters? And can someone le me know if automoving gear is fixed in a later update?

But you need his scintillating personality. Also, 2 bonus actions is very powerful. And his vampire bite makes him an awesome skill-monkey.

Upcast Armor of Agathys. Plus someone to tell you what an awesome hero you are when you help people.

Hell no! Four is plenty. Plus this game's biggest flaw is it's too easy.

Finally got Jaheria and I don’t know who to kick to the curb.

Shadowheart I guess who’s such a good tank and healer and stick Jaheria on as my healer.

This 4 slot crap really sucks. I just need 1 more slot. Maybe 2 so Astarion can tag along
