Anyone know where you can buy the out of print Solomon Kane stories (By Robert E. Howard)? Specifically any web sites, or book stores in Chicago.

Thanks

Amazon is good for finding out of print books- ebay is another good option.

Those stories are a good read.

E-bay may work (though there seem to be horror stories a-plenty lately).

I've been warry of buying anything "non new" on Amazon ever since they quoted me a price of $95.00 for a copy of Pyramids by Terry Pratchett, without even letting me know hard or soft cover! And boy am I glad I held off, because it was re-released in paperback (over here, never went out of print in England) for about $8.00.

I really wanted to help, but Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Powell's were all no help -- and I'm not selling my copy! I'd call around to bookstores in your area, because I know I've seen copies of Baen's REH compilations still on the shelves.

Hmm...who is Solomon Kane? I never had the chance to read any of those stories...hell the only RE Howard stuff I've read is Conan & Kull.

Solomon Kane was this hard-core puritan who would travel the lands and bring God's justice to villians. It takes place in the 1600's, iirc.

It has some very cool adventure ideas if you are ever looking to loot.

Salutations,

Hmm, maybe he could be used as an example.

There was certainly little if any mercy in this character- in on of the early stories he hunts a man from England to Africa.. all the way into dangerous jungles.

When he finds a raped dying girl- his response is "Men shall die for this" with no more emotion then he would note it a rainy day.

He is a cool hero, but I always picture paladins a bit more white-knight-ish. :)
