Bladesinger and Duelist AC bonus... do they stack?

Well, it's because you get the same ability score twice to AC. If that's OK with you, I renew my request to play in your game. There are a couple of combos within the wizard books I'd like to try out, but no DM would let me. :D

I'm hurt, I thought you requested to play in my game. ;)

You can play in my game, I'll let you combo whatever you want. Just remember that whatever min/maxing insanity you can pull off, I can outdo.

Templates, baby. A DM's best friend. :D

The problem with allowing it is it makes a particular stat unduly useful. The problem with disallowing it is that it means a Duellist doesn't get the same bonus for becoming a Bladesinger that a straight-up Fighter does.

With the number of game sessions that are cancelled right now I can play in both ;)

So you don't approve of using two PrC's to get the same ability bonus twice, but instead of ruling otherwise, you let them do it and then use an enemy to screw the culprit up big time? How evil. I like that :D

Hmm To me this seems you would not allow this because he is using the rules as they are written to "cheese" the system. So since it can be done legally, you are choosing to ignore the rules because you view them to be to powerful. There is nothing wrong with that. But from what Hypersmurf had previously written, i would say you are house ruling that bladesinger/duelist abilities don't stack. Where if you are playing by the rules, they are legal. From what i have seen written in examples of how the "crunchy" material works.

If i am correct in reading hypersmurfs post it is "legal". On a personal level i don't have an issue with someone using this. Even if they had an 18 int and got an addtl +4 to AC. That isn't something i would consider over the top, esp at higher levels when people are buying +4 plate etc. It will have advantages to be sure. But then it will have disadvantages like being hit flat footed and you have no AC bonus. The fact he is getting a "bonus from the same thing" seems to be the issue. Not that it is legal in how it is written in the game. I don't see it to be that big of an issue.

Perhaps someone could tell me if a barb "rage" +4 stacks with a frenzied berserker "frenzy" +6 so do they get a +10? That would seem to be outrageous at first, but then there is prob penalites that come with it. I would appreciate some conversation on this topic since we are getting into speceifics. I havent read the text but it came to mind while reading these posts. Any comments on this scenario?

As far as combo spells as they are written i would say go for it : ) I would like you to play in my game as i would find it to be a challenge for me as a DM to provide more of a challenge for you by coming up with innovative ways of doing things. I would consider my group "conservative powergamers" lol. But they don't min/max. We like roleplaying vs "killing stuff" but i like it when players come up with new/different way of doing things, using feats, casting spells..... But not to the fact they find one thing that works well then end up using it over and over to make themselves invincible. If they did that, eventually someone they killed would have an ally that wanted to see them dead and would obviously study the group or get accounts of what they do etc. And say well they do this every time or they have a mage that seems to cast these series of spells etc. How are we going to stop this from happening to us when we run into them? It just makes the DM have to come up with more than the standard approach.
Its all relative to the dm style

I can't comment on the Complete Warrior version, but the MotW Frenzied Berserker has a line "The effects of frenzy dtack with those from rage."
