BLEB1: Beer Run (stonegod - Designated Driver)

Khoros shrugs. "I know a bit".

OOC: Especially because I just found my notes for Khoros, and it seems like I'm planning on taking him into the shifter PrC in the main book. And that means ranger/scout cross.

Stonegod, would it be cheating if I took my next level as ranger? I was sort of planning on doing it anyway, but I'd be cool with his ranger abilities manifest after the next few encounters.

Khoros finds the tracks to be a bit old, several hours at least, and leading roughly north by northwest---roughly the direction they'd have to go to regain their path. Two or three of the odd tracks go in that direction, though they were in no rush or possibly wounded: The separation between tracks seems to be as if they were staggering or shuffling.

Khuther loocks back to the hill looking for Fritz. 'We got a mission dont we?' 'my vote is for returning to the cart and get our job done' he uncounciously put his hand over the money bag in a swift movement.

Kenn looks at Khoros.
"No rush or wounded? What about -" he holds his arms out stiffly in front of him and takes a few steps forward, growling "braaains....braaiins"?"

Then he returns to himself and shrugs.
"Kuther, they're going to wind up on our way, if Khoros has his bearings right. We may as well go, but warily."

He tosses a last stone on each of the graves.
"Let's get going. Rio, you may get to be a hero yet. And when the girls cluster around you in the tavern to hear it, I get first dibs on the red-heads."

Kenn returns to the wagon, not holstering his crossbow on the way.

Khoros bends and sniffs the tracks. "they are not moving fast. We could overtake them... if you are fast enough on foot. But we must hurry."

Mardigan looks at his armor There's no way I'll catch them by foot, but , you say that it looks like th ywent to return to the path, if we reload the cart and pushit we could et there faster o nthe path could we not?

Their work done, the group sits back up on the wagon and corrects course again. Tam pops open one of his eyes from his nap with a curious look as the others return, and then quickly relay the tale. He shrugs, having nothing else to offer.

Khoros leads out front, keeping an eye on the tracks ever so often as a precaution. Otherwise, the group makes some good time. A few hours later, the shifter notices the tracks veer off more northward. Squinting his eyes, Kenn thinks he sees the shadow of a structure off in that direction over a rise or two.

OOC: Don't have Someone's email addy, so I can't let him know the game is going on. If any of you are in w/ another game w/ him, I'd appreciate it if you let him know.

Kenn nuidges Rio and points over the ridge
"That's quality prayer, paladin. Looks like the gods want you to hang a left."
He takes a moment to half draw his rapier, making sure it's not stuck.
"And if it'll make you feel better, I'm curious to know what made those tracks myself."

Kenn squints at the building.
"Never a spyglass around when you need one." he murmurs.

"Anyway, you can always blame the whole thing on my curiosity if it goes badly. And if it goes well, I still call dibs on the redheads."

"If only we can catch whatever it is before they go inside..." Khoros mutters to himself. He doesn't like cramped spaces.

Without looking at his companions, he increases his stride, stopping every now and then to sniff the ground or rub a twig between his fingers.
