Can anyone provide advice on where to blog? I have no requirements other than free and easy to use. I had one with livejournal but was looking for a little more features (or maybe I don't know how to use LJ's features?)

Thanks all.

I use Live Journal. I've never found it lacking in features, but to help you out what features did you want that LJ didn't have?

I think LJ has a lot more features if you pay for the service. I think the free LJ is fairly basic, but it serves my purposes adequately.

There are a lot of blog sites on the web, though, and I'm sure others can steer you in their direction. As you already know, I use LiveJournal.

What I'm looking for is an interface. I don't want to have to log on to the site to get it going. Maybe I could use gmail to start posts and cut and paste into LJ?

Let me change the focus of the thread:

What advice do people have for working people that want to hammer out decent sized chunks in a non-contiguous time frame?

For long post I compose in word and copy and paste from there to LJ. I can write part of it, save it and get back to it in a few days.

You can remain signed on to LJ. There are options that toggle the signon/signoff procedure. I stayed signed into it.

But I guess you're wanting something where you can just toggle over, type some random thoughts, and then toggle back to what you were doing?

I've tried that but I get timeouts. Is it possibly my work network?

Yeah, I'd love to have a scratch pad that I could publish stuff on every so often.

I've tried it with paper but it never works out.

Maybe you could get one of those little handheld voice recorders.

People who have those look really pompous.

With Blogger you can download an app that allows you to post from a Word document. You simply type what you what in word, hit a little button it adds to Word, and it posts it to your blog.
