blunt weapon in forgotten realms

slashing and piercing weapons have keen and increased crit.....

I heard a rumour that in forgotten realms they got something for blunt weapons...I have been searching FR rulebook and haven't found anything on it...

Did I "hear" wrong....

You are right. I think it was called Impact.

Yes, its called Impact. It requires the spell "Weapon of Impact" both are out of the Magic of Faerun Book.

I'M not 100% sure (95% ) but that spell is just like keen edge... sadly, it only last 10 min a level instead of 1 hour per level...

In the D20 book Arms & Armour (if you want to use that) there is the enchantment Intense, which it states is the "bludgeoning equivalent of a keen weapon" It also has Penetrating, the piercing version of a keen weapon. There are also versions of vorpal for piercing and bludgeoning (skewering and crushing, respectively)

Really? But keen works on piercing weapons, so penetrating stacks on top of that? What's up with that?

Yeah, too bad that book bit the big one. There were a couple of nifty ideas in there, but all in all, a poorly assembled product. Maybe they'll get better at it. The vorpal version for bludgeoning weapons was pretty cool. Unfortunately, I use a new custom version of vorpal for all my games.

the definition of keen in the DMG states it only works on slashing weapons, i believe. Same with vorpal.

The DMG errata changed Keen so that it applies to both slashing and piercing weapons.

Interesting...oh well, since i have the Arms & Armour book, id just as well use the spells in it that are equivalent....
