The Introduction to the 4e Book of Vile Darkness describes the ancient tome as "a catalog of wickedness, a repository of wisdom for those in service to evil, and a compendium of all things foul." The 3.x edition describes it as "a fantastic reference work of evil deities, black magic, sacrifice, and forbidden secrets."
I am attempting to flesh out the contents of the book a bit more, and would like to request some suggestions on the "essays" and writings contained therein (i.e. fluff). Fantasy subjects (e.g. demon husbandry) as well as real-world subjects (e.g. butchering the human carcass) are welcomed. There's no need to keep it strictly game related, as I'm sure there is some overlap in nastiness.
I have all the editions of the BoVD rulebooks, so I'm familiar with the published material, but they are a bit lacking on specifics. There's lots of crunch about game content, but not a lot of fluff about the writings themselves.
So give me your "invocations to evil, essays on dark magic, and descriptions of the most sinister forces in the cosmos." Let me have it. The darker the better - I'm a big boy and can handle the ick.
