The Infernal Tome of Gameday Directions

OK, the Tome of Gameday Directions has been e-mailed to everyone but skinnydwarf, whose e-mail address is on my home computer (and who will get them tonight). If you are not skinnydwarf, or the significant other of someone else going, and haven't gotten the directions, please e-mail me to let me know.

On Chairs

Due to the largesse of my friend Aramil, 15 Chairs of Folding have been acquired for the gameday festivities. So this is no longer a BYOC event, and you can travel unencumbered by chairs on the T.

Faneuil Hall has what I call "the ultimate food court". The center buliding is mostly a series of food vendors. I recommend walking the entire length first before deciding what to get.

I like the aquarium, but have to admit that it is old and kind of run down.

The Museum of Science is great, we are members and visit regularly. One thing to note if you want to visit there; Normally you would take the Green Line to Science Park to get there, but they are doing renovations on the Green Line. As a result, North Station is the last stop on the subway and they are busing beyond that point.

More things to do in Boston

The World Headquarters (Motherhouse? Boston-based Vatican?) of the Christian Scientists is on Mass Ave (right across from the Complete Strategist, a FLGS), which is worthy of noting because for a five dollar donation you can check out the Maparium, a 3-story high stained glass globe that you walk through the middle of on a glass bridge. It's worth the price of admission for the acoustics alone.

Around the corner from that is Newbury Street, worth the walk for window shopping, or actual shopping. There's a cool affordable end, and expensive middle section with some great art galleries, and an expensive end with $6000 Art Deco posters and Gucchi outlets. The affordable end starts at Mass Ave, the expensive end stops at the Public Garden.

Speaking of the Public Garden, that's probably worth a walk through. It's either too early or you'll catch it just as everything starts flowering. I haven't been down there lately, so I'm not sure of the State of the Growing.

Harvard Square in Cambridge is worth the trip. (The other great FLGS in the area, Pandemonium, is in The Garage there.)

In general you can check out the Boston Phoenix for local clubs, movies, etc in the area: www.bostonphoenix.com.

Done.

Oh, I'll be coming from RI if that's what you meant - I'll be taking 95 N.
It wasn't. Yttrai has conveniently planned all possible routes into the city, as you will see in the Abominable Tome of Directions that I have just e-mailed you.:]
