Bow of true arrows - to good to be true

Hasted:

partial from previous round: Hunter's Mercy from MoF
partial of this round: true strike
attack action this round: multishot 4 arrows
move equivalent: loot body, or run

Combine this sequence with Peerless Archer's power shot and you have a real beast, potential sultans of smack build.

My arcane archer/DWS had this since, oh, 6th or 7th level. He's now 19th, and I've used the true-striking ability maybe 3 or 4 times.

True Strike only affects one attack roll, and even with Multi-shot, it's still 4 seperate attack rolls.

And I would rule that Hunter's Mercy also only affects one arrow, if I was the DM.

multishot is 1 atack roll for all arrows fired... and you are right multishot only affects the 1st arrow for critical purposes as that is precision damage.

I don't believe so. It's like shuriken, one attack, multiple attack rolls.

The Manyshot feat does say only one attack roll. However, I really hope that at some point Wizards comes out with some clarification on how it is used and what applies to what with it.

I wouldn't call one item unbalanced since you can create some situation with that item and half a dozen other items ("items" being feats, spells, magical items and so one). If the usual intent for the item is not unbalanced, and and the more conceivable combos are OK, too, I'd allow it. And then I'll make sure to punish every one who spends more time devising smackdown - combos than devising a character.

Well, if anything is broken in this combination, than it is either Hunter's Mercy or Manyshot (or both, well it's probably both)! ;)

Bow of True Strike is nice, not much more.

Now a Bow of Hunter's Mercy for the same cost... THAT would be broken! :D
