Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive TTRPG Makes $1M In Under An Hour

Can it beat Avatar Legends' $10M record?

The highly anticipated Stormlight Archives TTRPG Kickstarter--now renamed the Cosmere RPG--broke the million dollar barrier in under an hour, joining the million dollar Kickstarter club.

Published by Brotherwise Games, the game encompasses Brandon Sanderson's entire universe of novels. It includes a world guide, a rulebook, and an adventure called Stormlight Stonewalkers. It's a new game system, based on a d20 mechanic with talent trees and skill-based magic.

The question now is whether it can beat the Avatar Legends TTRPG's almost $10M record? Avatar hit the million dollar mark after the first few hours, so--at least at this point--the Cosmere RPG is tracking ahead of it. Brandon Sanderson already holds the Kickstarter record for the most funded project ever--his novel series made over $40M on Kickstarter in 2023!

Good comparison to King. King's stories (or series) are independent and you don't need to read his entire body of work to "get it". The connections between his stories are just an extra fun layer on top. I view the "Cosmere" in the same way. You don't need to read Mistborn to get Way of Kings.
His original plan was to play the connections super low-key, and they are still to a large extent, but he discovered thst fans got extremely excited by connections, so gave people more of what they wanted.

His most connected, pulling in different threads book so far is The Sunlit Man...abd the audiobook narrator had never read a Cosmere book before and reported having no trouble with comprehension or engagement.

I don't know where this "fake-news" comes from that there will only be one printing. Why would they invest so much effort into one print run, when they've also said from the beginning that this will be a "living" game with a lot of future releases?

The only thing that they've said, is that the initial (Kickstarter) print run will be the nicer one with uv foil and golden gilded pages. There will be later print runs should it be needed.

So I looked at this at GenCon but they are apparently not planning on doing anymore runs so kickstarter and that's it? How do I expect people to play this if I can't get them to buy it?
They have been communicating in the comments: there will definitely be further print runs, but after the initial Kickstarter new products will be direct to retail releases, so you would order them from your FLGS.
