Bring back the exposed boobs on the Monsters!

Different target market back then than today, and nudity certainly didn't help the situation once crazy people brought about the big religious scare against D&D back in the '80s. And if you don't think that something like this could be a big deal today, well...look up Transmetal II Blackarachnia, a transformer toy that had a removable bra. Hasbro had to recall that toy rather quickly from the stink, and fix it so that the offending piece was permanently mounted on her turbines.

It's amazing how neutered the RPG world has become.

Hollywood and video game companies know that Sex & Violence sells. Gygax and crew understood that too, but the 70s were a far more honest time than today.

Strangely, the anti-nudity brigade claims that women will be offended by cheesecake. But just take a look at the ads in any fashion magazine. Frank Frazetta's ladies are as realistic as the Photoshopped digi-woman in Vogue.

I am somewhat in agreement with Sylrae. And not because I know him. We did not really talk that much in school, and definitely not about nudity.
Wait. We went to school together?

I clearly don't recognize the username.

In this regard, I actually had this strange idea that it would be interesting to take a well known movie and shoot a remake with all the same angles where no one wore any clothes whatsoever, just to compare how exposed everyone really was when they were not try to showcase the human figure intentionally.
That would be entertaining. Though I'm not sure it'd be entertaining enough to pay money for.

You know realistic armor on female characters so that I really believe she is wearing it to protect her vital organs from a sword and not to seduce someone.
I'm all for it.

And how about we get away from the silly poses that would hurt most to their spines as they pose to show off both their cleavage and butt at the same time.
Absolutely. Though I would like to see a real woman actually manage some of those poses. Maybe a gymnast. That would be impressive.

I also would lie to see the end of these weapons that are so huge that you can't even sheath them and carry them.
I'm all for... wait a minute. Sometimes those are cool. (I'm thinking of the dangergirl character who uses a giant wrench, as well as a few other characters with oversized swords).

That's what monkeygrip is for.

But don't draw it unless theyre actually using oversized weapons mechanically too.

Your decision: let's offend everyone, instead of just offending women?
All or nothing. So long as we're not using a doublestandard on this, I'll be happy.

Feminist 1: Not being able to be nude is demeaning to women!
Feminist 2: Nudity is demeaning to women!

My opinion is that I don't care how much nudity or what kind appears in the books. However, there are enough people in our part of the world that care (for whatever reason), that it is not a sound business decision.
