Bring back the FanCC downloads please

I wasn't a member of the ENWorld forums, back when the Fantasy Netbook Community Council (formerly the DND Community Council) created a bunch of 3rd edition netbooks. But I just learned that they had a "home" here for a while.

I've only just discovered these netbooks and some of them are really brilliant. However, they are very hard to find and a lot of the websites that used to host them have been taken over by cyber-squatters.

I realise that this organisation doesn't exist any more, but would it be possible to locate all the netbooks that it created.

I also hope that ENWorld would be willing to host these downloads (or host them again) so that the people who continue to play 3.0 can enjoy the content within them (and so that people who play compatible games like 3.5 and Pathfinder RPG can convert their contents).

Netbook of Classes Tome 1 found

I've found "Netbook of Classes Tome 1" and uploaded it to ENWorld's "Downloads" section.

I can't find the second netbook at the moment. So if anyone finds it before me, please put it up (or let me know where to look for it).

If real life time permits and i boot up the server at home (it is temperamental and dies when it gets too hot) I can upload to the Downloads section all the FanCC stuff that I have - which is a fair chunk of it as I was an active member when it was functional.

As I haven't used the Downloads area before, could you give me a quick overview of what to expect?

Thanks for doing this, Big Mac. There's quite a few former FANCC members on EN World, and it's nice to see that the stuff is still appreciated.

I think I've still got NBO Traps. At least I hope I do, since I helped write it. I'll check when I get home.

I've uploaded volume 2 of the Netbook of Classes to the Downloads page.

Thanks. I'll download that one later (as I don't have it).

There isn't too much to it actually:
  1. Click the word "downloads" in the bar at the top of any ENWorld page,
  2. Click on the "D&D 3rd Edition" link on the page that loads up,
  3. Check to see if the netbooks you have are already there,
  4. If you have a netbook that is not up, click the words "Add Entry",
  5. Browse to the location of the FanCC file you want to upload and add an appropriate description and
  6. Wait while the file uploads (and then check to see that it is in the download list.

Well, you lot did some great work. It is a shame that the FanCC split up, but considering that you all did work for free, I'm grateful for whatever you all did before it ended. Even if it isn't all stuff I can use, I'm sure that other people who want to stick with 3rd edition will collectively enjoy all of this and 3.5 fans and Pathfinder RPG fans will easily be able to convert it.

Great. I'll look out for that. If I find any more elsewhere, I'll stick them up.

I've got a few of these, which I'll upload as I get a chance. I just put up the Netbook of Creatures.

Interesting, as I was looking at a couple more to upload (Netbooks of Treasures, Spells, and Races volume 1), I noticed that they use the d20STL. While it would be pretty easy to remove the trademarks and such with the correct software, I'm afraid I can't do it myself. Can ENWorld host something that uses the d20STL after Dec 31?

Absolutely. More than happy to.

I can check out any that are uplaoded and make any changes needed.

I've now uploaded the Netbook of Spells v1, Netbook of Races v1, and Netbook of Traps. Melatius seems to have beaten me to the Netbook of Treasures. ;)
