Buffy Season 3

I cannot abide a character who enjoys the cold-blooded, lengthy torture of another human being. Faith was a great character up until that point, where she ceased to be plausibly redeemable.

I daresay you forgot the IMO in that last line, there... I personally don't believe Faith could have done that for anyone other than Buffy. I agree she went way too far way too quickly with the whole "EEEEEEEVIL!" thing, but I thought it was a not-entirely-hamhanded way to bring out exactly what Faith thinks about Buffy following the events of the season.

One comment about Faith:

She acidentally killed the Mayor's righ-hand guy - I can deal with that. When she turned evil, her list went far longer:

-She tortured and killed the Geologist from late season 3.
-She poisoned Angel almost to death in season 3.
-She tortured Wesley, almost to death in Angel season 1.
-She killed a man soon after stepping off of a bus in Angel Season 1.

By the standard justice system, Faith should have the death penalty or (since it took place in California) life imprisonment.

Plus, she was cute as hell.

I just burned through my Buffy Season 3 set...

Oooh. Just watched 'Amends' last night. Man, it was good to see her again, even if it was in a creepy not-good sort of way.

Agreed. And the "magic addiction/drug addiction" metaphor was more than a little strained. Although as far as Xander's comic foil, I'd have to point to Anya, whom I've enjoyed quite a bit.

Yes, you are right, Anya filled that role in very nicely for awhile. Joss seems to be removing here character from the show, I wonder if she will die this season? I think Joss is missing some humor between Xander and the slayer's to be. He could go two routes, Xander frustrated with living/spending time will so many girls, or Xander always trying to impress them because he is a man and that is what men do. Now that I write it, I realize they are too young for the second option.

No, I thought it was unnecessary, given that I was saying "I cannot accept..." and "I cannot abide...". Rather figured that it being my own personal take on things was pretty well established with that.

For Henry:
Oh, please! :) As if a normal jail could hold a Slayer who didn't want to be held?

On Faith in jail: Was it ever mentioned what she turned herself in for? I know she did everything from minor misdemeanors to murder one, but did anyone ever say what she was in for? Just curious...

Hmmm... Actualy, Season 4 is one of my favorite seasons. Can't wait till it comes out.

I only to wait until March to get Season 6 on DVD, to go with 1 to 5 which are already mine... all mine.... (cue evil laughter)

While Eliza is a decent actress, I don't think I buy that she's better than Sarah. One thing Sarah can do that Eliza never did to my recollection is draw a big laugh. Buffy can be incredibly funny, and I don't know if Faith ever was funny. I'm reminded of this after watching the repeat this morning of the "kitten poker" episode, and Buffy making the exact same wierd face/bleh sound after doing shots of whiskey with Spike. Sarah has impeccable comic timing.

The murder of the Mayor's assistant in Buffy season 3, I believe, though I haven't seen the first season of Angel so I don't know what all went on there. There was an episode later in Angel where he goes to visit her in jail (that was the first time I ever saw faith, I didn't know she was a slayer), and I remember some talk about how she's pretty much staying voluntarily, because she could get out if she wanted to.

Darn British DVDs. I hear they do that because there aren't reruns there like there are in the US. Is that right?
