Buffy Season 3

There certainly arn't many reruns, (I think the BBC have rerun the first couple of seasons, not sure). Recently they have hardly advertised it and put it on at weird times in the schedule as well on BBC.

It not like Stargate SG1 which you can watch several times a day on Sky 1.

She may or may not be a better actress, but it's a bit moot, as they ruined the character by having her go a little too far. She is damaged goods in a major way.

Yeah, they went a little too far there. I always felt that Buffy and her hangers-on should have done more for Faith, but instead they pushed her into the arms of the mayor. That's just one man's opinion though.

I have to dissagree. The whole Scooby gang tried to help Faith. I felt that Angel was actually getting somewhere with her. Then Wes and the counsel got involved. That's what finally did it, IMO.

Faith never went completely evil for no reason. She was looking for acceptance. She never felt she had it with Buffy and crew, plus she is a rebel anyway. Giles couldn't be a father figure to her because that's what he is to Buffy. And the only other person she could relate to was Buffy. Their relationship was like estranged sisters, to me. They were so much alike, yet fundamentally different. The Mayor because a father to her and that's what kept her doing all the killing, to win his approval. It's not an excuse, but it's what made her happy at the time. Which is what makes it so saucy and evil.

There was motive and reason. Plus, we knew enough background about Faith to see that she had a very dark side to her that if pushed to far, would collapse. Plus, she's not as mentally tough as Buffy. Buffy had friends and family. Faith was an outsider with alot of pain and low on trust.

Buffy is cool

You know what one of Buffy's neatest scenes was?

She kills Dracula. Ok, so what? Doctor Van Helsing and assorted others have done it a million times. Who cares?

Then Dracula reforms, coming back to unlife.

WHACK!

Buffy: I know you come back. I watched all your films.

Dracula starts to reform again.

Buffy: I'm still here!

Buffy season 3 et al

Nice to see other people liked season 5 as well.

I liked Glory as a villain. To start off with she was just rather powerful and female. Then you found out she was a god.
And Buffy tried to fight her but realised when she could not, did what other people would try and do, RUN !

There were other great episodes in here.
The Body.
Spike telling Buffy about his killing of other Slayers
The Dracula episode
Dawn writing in her diary and everyone accepting that she has been there forever to the consternation of the audience.

But Season 3 was best. Buffy having to come back. The difficult reconciliations with her friends. The fact she could not come right back into school, Angel's return, Faith's arrival, Prom Night when Buffy got an award, Homecoming (?) when Cordelia and Buffy lost, Bad Willow and Xander, The Destruction of the school.

First off, if it hasn't been said yet, welcome to the boards. :D

And yes, I keep forgetting the high points of season 5 as there were many. I forgot the major Angel/Buffy crossover where we learned more about Spike, Dru, Angelus and Darla. Those were some great eps. That's when I truely started to feel for Spike.

But season 3 simply had the best adversaries. Season 2's finale was actually more gut-wrenching, but there were some eps in there that were forgetable. I can't wait to go back and watch 4, 5 & 6 again just to see how they all hold up over the years. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the 2 & 3 sets. I'll probably get the 1st season now, just to tide me over until June...

...ah, I forget that the Angel Season 1 set is out in a few weeks. Joy.

I gave up on Season 5. Glory wasn't very scary or menacing at all. Buffy goes on over and over again about how she can't beat Glory, but what happens in the end? She beats up Glory. Why not just have done that in the beginning?

Yeah, but when it got tough they backed off. Oh well, we just have to disagree.
Well, yes we disagree on this point. But I'm curious. What could they have done to keep helping her that hadn't been tried already?
