Buffy Season Four DVD - Disc problems?

Just got to Disc Two and the episode 'The Initiative'. Everything else has been fine, but this episode has tons of problems: artifacts, drop outs, pausing, repeating/looping stuff. Basically unwatchable. Anyone else experienceing this problem?

I * gasp! * haven't bought the Season 4 set just yet but I had similar problems (as did others) with the Season 2 set. What kind of DVD player are you using?

I've had this problem with Buffy season 3, Angel season 1 and the Shield season 1. It' was on all 4 discs of the shield. This makes me think it is Fox DVD's fault. I havn't gotten season 4 of Buffy just because of this reason.

My buffy has been fine thus far (Not got season 4 yet, though), except for a very minor artifact in the Mummy Girl episode.

My Stargate SG-1, on the other hand, almost the entierity of disc 2 of season 2 is unwatchable.

I have had no problems with Buffy Season 1-3, Angel Season 1, Simpsons Seas 1 and 2 and Futurama Season 1. All from Fox. Haven't gotten Buffy Season 4 yet due to cash issues. Hopefully in the near future. If so I'll let you know then.

I've had a few problems with SG-1, but not Buffy or Angel. Hopefully getting Buffy Season 4 today or tomorrow.

I had to return Buffy Season 1, had two discs that froze on the 3rd episode of each. No problems with Seasons 2 and 3. I've only watched Disc 1 of Season 4 up to now.

Didn't have any problems with Angel Season 1, or SG-1 Seasons 1 and 2.

I had loads of problems with Buffy Season 1 - I got 2 disc 2's in the first one I bought, the replacement disc 3 was bad in the next one... In the end 3 copies ended up passing through my hands before everything was okay.

For this reason, I've been very careful to retain receipts on the subsequent seasons. Nor will I buy them online (since chances are I will have to pay to ship a defective disc back to the seller) - I just go to Best Buy.

Good luck with your problem. It took me weeks to get mine sorted out.

Yeah, I had the same problem with a couple of DVDs of TV shows... alright, so it was the Muppet Show. First person that laughs gets a boot to the head . I also had some problems with my first set of B5 DVDs. What I discovered is that when companies make transfers of these DVDs they're made fairly cheaply, and as a result tend to be very fickle. If you have a DVD with lots of artifacts, return it for another copy and don't take the salesperson's crap about it being your DVD player.

Well, I just watched this episode last night and experienced no problems whatsoever. Granted, I listened to the commentary track with Douglas Petrie, but I figure if there would be problems with that ep. it would manifest itself there as well.

Where did you purchase your Discs?
