Buffy Spoilers 11/12

Yeah, I'm going to go with gullible, Johnathan :)

Previews, it showed them setting up to hunt Spike:

Narrator: Girls are really falling for bad-boy spike.
{shows spike biting some woman, then cuts to anya}
Anya: Let's go. {spike is on a bed. She holds up a stake.}
Spike: Is that a stake?

Narrator: Will buffy be next?
Buffy: {to spike} You know you want it.

I've left out irrelevant bits. So I'm thinking Buffy and Anya decide spike is vamping people. They try to set him up with Anya (who he's done before), that fails, buffy goes after him herself. Can't get him to bite anyone. But people keep getting vamped. They should figure it out eventually :)

The more I think about it, I'm sure EVERYONE bad in this ep was the One Beneath. Holden the psych vamp, evilSpike biting that girl, Cassie, Warren, and Joyce + the house demon. All of them. Andrew fell for it completely, so did Dawn, Willow shook it off, Buffy bought it too. Wow.

Andrew would fall for anything, and Dawn is fragile emothionally. That has been shown. Buffy has had self doubts befor, so I'm not sure that battle was won be either side, I'd call it a draw. Willow was the only victory, but damn they did a good job with that dialogue.

Yeah, even I wouldn't bet against my own gullibility :), but I know Whedon likes pulling fast ones on the viewers. We saw a bunch of living people confronted with dead people, and the obvious assumption to make is that all of the dead guys were lying (and that they were in fact just different aspects of the same manifestation, this season's BBEG). But I wouldn't put it past Whedon to have one of the manifestations having been real, just to throw us off the scent.

Of course, I could just be outsmarting myself, too. I've been known to do that upon occasion. :)

Do you really think Buffy, who swore to let the world be destroyed rather than kill Dawn, would turn on Dawn like pseudoJoyce said? Man, I hope not.

It really depends on the sitation. We still don't know what's up with the Slayers in training being killed. This Evil can assume anyone it seems, perhaps Buffy is tricked?

All three are the major power centers in Sunnydale-

Except that Dawn has been shown to have very little in the way of "power". She's a Key. She opens a door. Other than that, so far, there is no evidence of any power whatsoever.

A more plausible explanation - The One Beneath didn't pick on Xander because there's not so much to pick on. Xander's too stable at this point, emotionally speaking.

Plus, he got hit with the misleading vision back at his wedding. He's unlikely to fall for it again.

From beneath you it devours.

Buffy told spike flat out at one point last season that he was beneath her. Interesting.

Tonight's episode, though, after Buffy and Holden battered their way into the tomb, Buffy gets pshrinked some more, and says she feels like she's beneath her friends. Aw, crap. From beneath you it devours.

About Spike...yes, after the season premiere, I figured the Big Bad was the First Evil, but then I decided that "From beneath you, it devours" could fit Spike because of what Buffy said to him, and what with his being a vampire, and I wouldn't put it passed Whedon to make Spike the Big Bad while everyone thinks it's the FE, especially since a lot of people think that since he had a soul now he will be all goody-goody, but then they had to go and give Buffy that danged line tonight, so now I'm pretty sure I'm overanalyzing the show, and it's probably not going to be any of the above.

Am I wrong, or was it just the women in the show that were visited? and does that have any meaning?

Not just women were visited, what his face with Johnathan was visited too just not in the same way. I also think Spike was visited by the girl he bites, this adds that the vamp Buffy was talking to was the OB.

Johnathan may not be dead, he may be the one to warn Buffy and all.

Interesting Xander was not shown as he has always been the one with the greatest insecurities. This could be the loophole to keep everyone together or we finially see Xander go bad (just a wish).
