I love the character creation process of Burning Wheel -- your character, by necessity, fits into a society and a world.
I hate the combat system.
Yeah, I'm not much of a combat-monkey, but this system is so convoluted, and often devolving to too few people actually being able to roll, that I find it annoying. The same can be said of their "social combat system".
I like many of the variations on the magic system. With very few changes to the core rules, vastly different feeling kinds of magic, which is something I find both amusing and useful.
So BW is a very mixed bag for me. The above points are simply a starting point for my ups and downs with it.

Well, us BW fans have been waiting for the MagBu since, what, 2003?A Magic Burner text is the last thing I need for a Burning Wheel game.
As for the Fight! and Duel of Wits systems, I've had nothing but fun with them, but I've seen that they are not to everyone's taste. FWIW, the upcoming Mouse Guard RPG is supposedly a pretty stripped-down implementation of BW, so that may be more amenable to some.
