Call of Cthulhu d20!

I got it today! Woot! Oddly, it was at my FLGS, within 10 minutes walk of my basement suite. I haven't had much time to look at it yet, but had a question:

Are there any errata, supplements, web enhancements, FAQs, updates, common house rules, etc., that I should know about?

There was a web supplement with a couple gods or monsters that were cut from the book. I think it's gone now, though.

There were 2 supplements that had decent d20 sections in them: HPL's Arkham and HPL's Dunwich. (Also a 3rd, Kingsport, but I don't have that yet).

You might find it at yog-sothoth.com.

There is also campaign called Nocturnum published by FFG. And a new edition of Delta Green, which is one of the best-written rpg books out there, with d20 stats. Both are modern-era.

Monte Cook had an adventure for 1st level on his site at one point, it may be gone now. And given your screenname Particle_Man is it safe to assume you are a fan of Darkest of the Hillside Thickets? Those who preordered the book got a CD from them with Lovecraft themed songs that had in game effects if played during a game. You might be able to find it on e-bay.

Overall I have tended to use the book in conjunction with d20 Modern rather than as is. I also used the magic system in a low magic DnD campaign one time.

I love my d20 book, although to be honest, now that i'm running Masks of Nyarlathotep, i rarely, rarely use the core book. Once you get the hang of atmosphere and story telling (key elements in CoC), the stats for monsters and spells are less important, and don't come up nearly as often as they do in DnD.

If you want the old Web enhancements and stats for the star spawn of Cthulhu that was cut from d20 CoC rulebook, this is the thread you want to see:

http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=158304&page=1&pp=30&

At about post #30 and on, there are links to where you can get them online, from WotC and the Web Archive. So please don't email the people offering copies in the first part of the thread. :)

Eh, I'll just make it easy for everyone:

This may make things easier for everybody:

An adventure fragment for CoC d20 that's still sitting on the WOTC server: http://www.wizards.com/cthulhu/files/Jenkin_lives.zip

Shantak and Ygolonac (also still on WOTC's server): http://www.wizards.com/cthulhu/files/shantakygolonac.zip

And Monte's article: http://web.archive.org/web/20020606050202/http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/dx20020329x

And the Star Spawn of Cthulhu monster stats, which didn't make it into the final book, can be found here:

Correct. Plus, a campaign like Masks of Nyarlathotep, hugely deadly in Basic system, takes on another color, more appropriately "pulp/indiana jones" in style, which fits more with the actual vibe I get from this great (one the greatest, really) RPG product, with the d20 rules.

The real beauty of this book (which is probably my favorite RPG product of all time, by the way) isn't just that you can play Cthulhu with it, though. It's that you can import the magic system into any other d20 game. You can import Hounds of Tindalos or Byakhee into your D&D game. Etc.
