Yes, d20 is the OGL plus you get to say your a d20 product but you have some additional restrictions. Some of those restrictions make a d20 computer program more challenging than an OGL computer program.

Is this trying to put a positive spin on the fact that they were having trouble w/ D20 or is this a good thing. I like CS and hope they have success with it.

To the best of my knowledge, they were d20 compliant. It's my understanding that it was realized that the benefits of the d20 license do not outweigh the downsides when making a computer product.

But that's my opinion only, and should not be construed as a legal opinion.

No, there is no problem with CS and mastertools. Not even sure where this thought comes from.
