Campaigns in the near future?

Ill probably continue running my "House on Griffon Hill" campaign. The guys seem to enjoy it and its fun to run it. Wanna try some other campaigns as well, maybe get my hands on the new Ravenloft one

I expect most of the year will be spent running "Savage Tide". I'm also hoping to run "Expedition to the Demonweb Pits" and maybe "Expedition to Castle Greyhawk". And, if I'm very lucky, I'll get to start an "Age of Worms"/"Dark Sun" crossover.

Plus, I'd quite like to run some adventures of my own design.

Gonna run shorter modules like DCCs and stuff from Dungeon. Just gonna string 'em together. The crux of my problem is that I need a good generic setting -- something that's got some coastal towns and a mix of terrain fairly nearby. I just want to scatter some adventures and let the gang go a-wandering...

Sound like the Forgotten Realms could fit the bill? Lots of mixed terrain and pretty generic. Possibly set things round that inland sea to the north. (who's name completely escapes me).

I like the way the book lays stuff out - not too much detail, but some nice hooks for most regions. My only issue is that some of the 'random NPCs' are rather epic for my liking, but that's easily fixed?

I will finish up the Ptolus game that is currently on hiatus due to the holidays. I am running a modified Night of Dissolution game and the PCs arent very far along in it. Likely we will not play long after that modules done. After that we will like either pick up a game we abandoned long ago set in out homebrewed world of Despair or return to Eberron - either of which will be run by someone else.

Is this thread supposed to be about campaigns we're actually going to play in or run, or just ones we wish we were going to play in or run?

If it's the latter...
  • I've always wanted to play in a well-done FR campaign. I've never played in the Realms, partly because I used to be a Realms hater. But now I'd like to try it *cough*togetmymoney'sworthoutofmyFRbooks*cough*.
  • An all dwarves campaign. I'd play or DM this. Dwarves are cool.
  • An all warriors (in the generic sense) campaign. Just to see what it's like when you really care about the +1 bonus from higher ground, or taking the Diehard feat to increase your survivability.

I want to use the Known Realms from Goodman Games, which I have, but the sticking point for me is that I love having electronic CC2 versions of maps.

I might go into the FR Atlas CD, pull out a couple of likely maps, change some names, and use some info from Known Realms. That might do the trick...

I am preparing CITY v4.0... for a January 2007 launch (see my sig for an explanation, or perhaps obfuscation, of CITY).

I have my plot hooks, but am desperately short on clever puns.
