Can an elemental be cured?

Hi,

I'm currently playing a game where the cleric got a Large Fire Elemental by using a Lesser Planar Ally to help them getting rid of a white dragon.

The elemental fell in a trap, getting 8d6 point of damage, the cleric wants to know if he can cure it?

I don't see why not. But wouldn't the cleric take a few points of damage from touching his flaming pet.

Absolutely, on both counts. There are feats and PrC abilities that let you make touch spells into 30-foot ranged touch spells; if the Cleric also had 5 levels of Wizard, Sorceror, or Bard and the Improved Familiar feat, well, at least in teh Forgotten Realms there's the "Beholderkin Eyeball" (grapefruit sized mini-Beholder), which delivers all touch attacks as 30-foot-range rays (even as the designated deliverer of a touch spell cast by their master).

Or of course, you can just invest in a Protection from Fire spell. :)

After getting your answers, the cleric wants to know if he can give it a cure potion to bypass the fire damage :D

:D

Depends on the DM's ruling on what happens to potion bottles picked up by a FIRE elemental.

Tell him next time, go for an Earth or Water elemental (probably Earth). Air elementals are hard to even FIND, Fire Elementals arent' suitable for pettign zoos, but at least touching a moving ROCK isn't an automatic ticket to a burn ward, lol.
