Yeah, I rule that the intent of the Feather Fall spell overrides the immediate action mechanic.

Casting it on one's self I agree with that, but don't you think you are robbing those poor pit traps out of their deserved victims ? But in all serousness, that is the best way to do it.

And anybody else think FF feels more Abjuration than Transmutation?

You mean in that it usually stops something you don't want happening?

So does Forcecage. So does Power Word Kill. So does Holy Word.

Feather Fall fall pretty protective to me. Plus Trans gets far too many spells.
