can you sneak attack illusions ?

Another thread about sneak attack has made me wondering about the necessity for a rogue to know what vitals areas he should aim at.

Can a rogue (assuming he's flanking or taking his opponent flatfooted or ...) sneak attack someone who
is under an illusion spell that make him look taller or shorter or of another race ?
Where to put the limit between a sneak attack compatible illusion and one which is not ?

P.S: [meta] I've put Feat as posticon cause there isn't an "ability" icon. If there is a more appropriate posticon, let me know

If it's something like Disguise Self, his first attack would only be a normal attack (as the vital areas of the assumed form would likely be different than the actual form). However, as soon as he made the first attack, he would effectively be interacting with the illusion- and thus would get a Will save to negate it. Assuming he succeeded, all subsequent attacks would be Sneak Attacks.

Sounds fair .
Thanks. Now I know I must put this little trick to good use :)
