if i didn't have class i'd say "boo-yah", but i do. excellent game, nice to see canada get it. usa really played with heart. but in the end, this just means way more to "us" than you guys, because you americans are so good at so many other sports.
btw, time to get back to dancing in the streets in a maple leaf laden speedo . . .

Great game U.S.A., As I mentioned in an earlier post this meant alot more to the Canadians, but damn it... did you guys have to play so well and give me an ulcer!!?!?!?

Really, it was a good clean game and close for most of it we squandered some chances and made it harder for ourselves in the end but I think (and I am totally biased of course) we were the better team, defensively I think we played the best I have seen Canada play in awhile, and we created alot of chances.. Great game guys all around, the USA can be proud.

Wow, what a well played game, the score really didn't do the game justice. The score is a nice revenge from '96. Saw the game at GM place thanks to the Canucks and the mother corp. 10,000 people watching a game on TV. WOW! It will be interesting to see if the NHL participates in Athens or we see another Canada cup style tourney. Now onto the Canucks working to make the playoffs!!!
How about Burnaby Joe (Sakic). CBC said in the last 9 months he's won a Stanley Cup,the Hart trophy, the Lady Byng trophy, an Olympic gold and MVP of the Olympics.

Awesome, awesome game. The States didn't make it easy on us, and we certainly didn't expect them too. They pressed hard mid-way through the third and looked like they were going to do some serious damage there. Phew!
All n' all, a great week of hockey. Ups and downs and all arounds. I can't tell you just how much this gold means up here. It can be said that Canadians are pretty reserved when it comes to national pride. An event like this, however, is one of the few times when we allow ourselves to bring out the flags and hit the streets. Cheers!

I thought the third period was actually the best performance by the USA. Lots of good scoring chances but Canada's defense was just too good.
I thought maybe the tide would really turn after the US killed that 5-on-3 power play in the 2nd period...but I guess it just wasn't to be...oh well. As a Pens fan, it is great to see Mario get a gold medal(since he'll definately never win another Stanley Cup).
Once again...Congrats Canada(I even taught my son to sing the Canadian National Anthem in your honor...).
