Catwoman and Bourne Supremacy

So, Catwoman got a really bad review at Ebert's, while Bourne Supremacy got a good one. Anyone here seen either yet?

Not seen yet but only Bourne Supremacy interest me, which I may see this weekend.

Yeah, I actually may see Catwoman instead, in spite of the reviews, because Julie will want to see Bourne Supremacy with me.

I saw that Harry Knowles called Catwoman "merely mediocre" instead of blasting it.

However, he also admits why he did that; six words - Halle Berry in a leather catsuit.

With 309 votes so far, Catwoman is rated a 2.5 on the IMDB. Ouch! I think this is going to end up on the Bottom 100 list. That's a shame. I was really, really hoping that it would be a case of "It's nothing like the comic, but it isn't a bad movie". Doesn't look that way.

My local paper, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, said Bourne supremecy was a fine movie and Catwoman was the worst movie of the year and possibly a death knell for HB's career. But I haven't seen either.

I just can't figure out why they would make HB a costume that was so unsexy. Michelle Pheifer gave me fanboy wet dreams for months after Batman Returns, with her tight, sleek, shiny, black leather and dominatrix look...grrrr! Oh excuse me there, anyway Halle's outfit make me wonder if she is less hot than I thought she was. That's probably not possible but damn that outfit sucks!

One good (?) thing about Catwoman is that it allows the headline writers to break out the cliches:

Catwoman: Film should be fixed

Catwoman fails to purr

Catwoman coughs up a hairball

'Cat'-astrophe

Catwoman: No amount of kitty litter could save this stinker

Fur doesn't fly

etc, etc

My wife and I are seeing Bourne Supremacy Saturday afternoon. I have no plans whatsoever to see Catwoman.
