[CC] Highlands Noble

First Post
Continuing the theme of the Celtic regional campaign setting, I present an alternative to the skill-master aspect of the rogue. The challenge is to present alternatives to the core classes that all have +1 BAB/level and d12 hit dice (it's the highlands, everybody's a fighter).

Next I'll work on a more proper rogue with low-skills but rogue-like combat stuff.

So far, the only other class I got finished is the highlands wisard.

Highlands Noble
The noble is the most highly skilled and educated of the highlanders. The wealthiest are often sent into the lowlands to receive their education. That doesn't mean they're soft, though; they can still hack it with their highlander brethren.

BAB: Fighter (+1/level)
Saves: Good Fort; Bad Ref, Will.
Special: The noble is the only highlands class that can read and write.
Multi-class Restrictions: Any highlands character who takes levels in a non-highlands class may no longer take levels in any highlands class (once you turn your back on your clan, that's it). Furthermore, you may not multi-class into the noble class until your highlands character can read, write and has an Intelligence of 14 or higher.
Alignment: Any nonlawful.
Hit Die: d12.

Class Skills: The noble's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Appraise (Int), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Decipher Script (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Gather Information (Cha), Innuendo (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Intuit Direction (Wis), Jump (Str), Knowledge (Int), Listen (Wis), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Read Lips (Int), Ride (Str), Search (Int), Sense Motive (Wis), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str) and Wilderness Lore (Wis).
Skill points per level: 8 + Int modifier.

Class Features
The following are class features of the highlands noble.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: All highlands classes are proficient with all medium or larger swords, all axes and shortbows. They are also proficient with shields. They are only proficient with light armor, and are restricted from taking further armor proficiency feats.
Bonus Skills: From time to time, the noble may learn a new skill that is normally outside of his or her repitiore, including the use of magic devices. From that point on, the bonus skill is treated as a class skill for the purposes of point cost.
Leadership: Highlands characters may only accept followers with levels in highlands classes.
Improved Leadership: At tenth-level, the highlands noble receives an inherent +1 leadership score modifier.
Greater Leadership: At fifteenth level, the highlands noble receives an additional +1 inherint leadership score modifier.
Greater Skill Focus: The highlands noble receives an additional +2 skill modifier to any one skill for which he has skill focus.
Clan Leader: At twentieth level, if the highlands noble has at least 150 followers, he may establish his own clan. Mechanically speaking, this means the noble receives titles, lands and tributary income from peasants living on those lands. He is also entitled to a large keep, which takes 8 months to build.

This is really strong to multiclass from -- take one level and get out, or two levels if you need SF for a prestige class. Normally classes need to pay BAB (and hp, to a lesser degree) for starting with lots of skills, but not this class...

Good point. I may add another multi-classing caveat that you can't level into a highlands class if you haven't been taking them from level 1. That would at least remove some of the attraction to take levels in this class just to move into a prestige class.
