CE vs. N (FFA): Very Young Howling Dragon vs. Thunder Worm

The plant misses its AoO as LC approaches (rolled 17), and it is affected by the shadows (natural 1 Ref save), losing one level and 5 HP. It has 49 HP remaining. Lamont Cranston can breathe again next round.

Round 429: The plant sends out a lightning bolt from its spike, accompanied with the roar of thunder. This seems to startle LC, who does not evade the bolt (roleld 15 Ref save), taking 23 points of damage, and also is deafened (rolled 18 Fort save). LC has 29 HP remaining. Remember that he has total concealment, and he is next.

LC breathes another cone of billowing shadows and then hovers upward 5ft.

OOC: Good thing that AoO missed 'cause I didn't realize the plant had reach. :)

OOC: What you do not know may hurt you. :)

The plant ignores the shadows (rolled 26 Ref save). LC can breathe again in round 431. 110N85E25Z

Round 430: The plant hovers back 5 feet to 110N95E25Z and fires six spikes, missing with all six (one because of concealment, the rest because of really crummy rolls).

OOC: I am not so sure a creature with the Hover feat can take 5-foot steps and take full round actions, but both sides are doing it, so I will rule it OK for now.

LC hits with all three attacks (worst roll 21+1=22 for higher ground) for a total of 9 points of damage. LC, however, gets a shock every time he hits, taking 4+2+3=9 points of electrical damage. The plant has 40 HP remaining.

Round 431: The plant hovers back to 110N100E30Z and fires six spikes, missing with all of them (2 because of shadows). LC has 20 HP remaining.

The plant loses another level and 5 HP (rolled 13 Ref save). The plant has 35 HP remaining. LC can breathe in round 433.

Round 432: The plant backs up to 110N105E35Z and fires six more spikes. It looks like the plant will never run out of the things. Amazingly, one of the spikes hits for 6 points of piercing and 6 points of electrical damage. LC has 8 HP remaining. I have good news, however, and nothing to do with insurance. LC can hear again.

LC will try a last ditch effort to bull rush the plant out of the arena. I forgot the ruling, but if the plant gets only half of it pushed out, it's still out, right? So, LC only needs to succeed in pushing it 5ft? Let's hope he survives the AoO.

The plant misses with AoO (rolled 8). The plant holds its ground (or air, in this case) (rolled 21 vs. -1 on bull rush attempt).

Round 433: The plant fires six more spikes (LC would have missed with AoO if he wanted to take it (rolled 11)). One of the spikes hits, inflicting 4 piercing and 5 electrical damage. LC takes 4 points of damage from the fall. He is dying. The plant steps to 105N100E40Z.

Next in round 433 for Chaotic Evil is a temporal filcher (Expanded Psionics Handbook).
