celestials

by my reckoning, it's just the eladrins. of course, you have the scattered few, such as the zoveri, asuras... but for the main ones, eladrins are it. :)

actually, you'll love this... :D

i want to create some celestial LORDS. not gods, not just powerful solars/archons... actual lords, the way the demons and devils have lords. :) more on this soon...

Very fine work, Boz. You definately have my thanks! :)

As for other celestials, besides the eladrins I think the only 'true' celestials left are the asuras and the quesars.

I'd also be very interested in seing your ideas for celestial lords, too. :)

momentarily. :) look in the general monster talk forum.

also, as for converting more celestials... soon, but not too soon. ;)

I have a few observations, and forgive me if they display my lack of familiarity with the archons' stats in AD&D.

The tome and throne archons, according to their descriptions, are wearing armors -- detailed descriptions in some cases -- but their AC features natural armor.

Already, I can excuse it myself by saying that the armor is a physical/visual manifestation of an archon's nature, and can't actually be removed , but I wanted to point it out in case it was an actual lapse. I believe, howeve, that in the AD&D Encyclopedia Magica, several varieties of celestial weaponry and armors were detailed as objects, independent of the celestials wearing them. Doesn't make it right for 3e, of course, but it's the heritage I'mlooking at.

Also, I'll have to go back to my old materials and examine the sword archon: 4 bite attacks? I know it has no arms with which to attack, but that's pretty intense for something which ostensibly has a human head. Wow. I wonder if they can get "dentures of fiend slaying" or "keen teeth."

Maybe on Halloween a sword archon could paint its body night black, attach a bunch of vines to its chin, and call itself a vargoille (or a penangelan).

Hi, Boz,

Re: the Equinal:

An equinal possesses the strength of a giant, and can punch through even stone or plant mail. An equinal in combat is a flurry of blows and flying fists.

My apologies for not catching the above typo ("plant" for "plate") earlier -- it unfortunately made it to the CC.

Whinny (Su): Once per minute, an equinal can release an earsplitting whinnying shriek. The equinal can either choose to stun its opponents (Will save, DC 15) or deafen them (Fortitude save, DC 15) for 1d6. Equinals are immune to this attack.

The deafeneing effect is missing a time unit (rounds, minutes).

hmm, good one, no idea... i'll have to take a look at my books, don't have em with me. :)

hmm, plant mail... i better remember to fix that, don't want it to be the next "15 foot tall black salad". ;)

Ah the Typodaemon strikes again I see...

By the way, I have descided to make a guardinal based on the armadillo, so wish me luck... :D

actually, it was a case of me substituting one word for another as i type, because i type so fast. i do it all the time. ;)
