Personally, I have no problem with a regular mount. The thing is, my DM doesn't like the flavor of the pokemount for Dwarves.
Why not get some personal magic item that increases in power as you do? Something like the weapons out of Spells and Spellcraft would be nice, as long as your DM had a pre-arranged list of powers. I could see myself giving that to my own munchkin player...
Prothall, This could really get out of hand when put together with The hammer of moradin plethora of bane abilities.
So your DM likes his Paladins Slow
Macmathan, I'll ask him about it
(Ack -- I thought that you were the DM. But the point stays: the hammer of moradin is so powerful that nobody should worry about compensating for the lack of the mount.)
Yeah, I can see were you're going with this. And in this case it's probably true. But I'm not sure that just eliminating it is the answer. Not every dwarf paladin is going to take the Hammer of moradin PrC, so an option should exist if the DM wants it.
A bonus fighter feat seems too much of a copout.
An extra smite could do be an answer. But I'm not sure.
An extra spell seems slightyly too good. Maybe just add some spells to the Paladin list (i.e the dwarf domain from the FRCS?)
Also, replacing the pokermount with a feat (any feat) seems unfair, in the sense that the mount scales with levels. By the way I've never played a a paladin in 3E or 3.5E, and I have no idea just how signifivcant the mount can be, so correct me if you think the previous statement isn't true. FOr my character concept I don't really see the mount as very significant, but remember that it isn't me looking for the change, it's my DM. Any change in this case will probably favor me, so you'll hear no complaints from this quarter
