Changling help.

Dragon Vindaloo

First Post
I'm putting together a changeling (from the eberron setting) DMPC to play a supporting role in a forgotten realms version of the savage tide dungeon adventures.

I want this changeling to kinda be like mystique from x-men eventually gaining enough control over its abilities to become more like a changeling from star trek: deep space nine.

What class/feats and skills would you recomend as a path to shapechanging greatness?

I suspect druid but would like to hear any other ideas you have. I would like this character to be more of a martial combat dude with shape changing abilties than a divine caster type.

Thoughts and suggestions for pulling this off in 3.5 rules are welcome (any books allowed). I suppose we could modify the druid class into a non-divine or nature orientated combat class?

Ok, I've checked out the Warshaper class and love it. What would you suggest as a way for my changeling to get there/qualify?

Must have a BAB of 5+ etc...

Anyone know if there is a changeling paragon set of levels anywhere?

I recall seeing one in one of the Eberron books... probably Races of Eberron. Not certain if it is what you are looking for... I know it didn't quite fit my Changeling rogue.

Btw, the Warshaper's morphic weapons feature is *awesome* for any class that gets bonus damage (Sneak Attack, etc). Depending on how your DM rules it, Warshapers can have a huge number of extra natural attacks, one of each type.

Changelings can qualify for it as soon as they have BAB +4. Four levels of any warrior class will do.
