Human paladin str 15, dex 13, con 14, int 12, wis 14, cha 15.
Increase str at 4th level and cha at 8th level.
Feats: power attack, divine might, extra smiting, cleave, improved critical (greatsword)
Equipment: +2 Mithral Fullplate, +3 cloak of resistance, +2 ring of protection, +2 amulet of natural armor, belt of gaint strength +4, +1 holy greatsword, + 1 mighty composite longbow, boots of striding and springing.

I'm not sure if you have enough gold to get all of this at 10th level, but get what you can. You might want a cloak of charisma instead of the cloak of protection.

Things I might consider changing from that Paladin:

  1. Take at least 1 level of PsyWar to get Expansion power. This will boost your base damage fairly decently (using Large weapon damage). Take enough levels of PsyWar and you get 2 size boosts... (XPH)
  2. After about 5 levels of Paladin, take a couple of levels of Kensai: not only do you get the inherent weapon improving ability, there is the situational +8STR bonus that is untyped...and potentially reusable. (CompWar)

Alternative Kensai build:

Monk 2 / Hexblade 3 / Fighter 1 / Kensai 4

Requires being LN or LE, shouldn't be a huge issue. Either fight with weapons and have unarmed as backup, or make unarmed strike your signature weapon. In any case, wear armor, ignore the unarmored monk abilities. Build gives you base saves of 7/5/8 and charisma to all saves plus Evasion and Mettle.

Those other builds would work too. It just depends on how complicated you want to get and how many books you want to flip through to make the character. I just threw out something from off the top of my head that is basic and gets the job done. The phb and one of the complete books (warrior or divine) would be all you need. He'd end up with a decent AC, good saves, some divine spells to play with, and can put a lot of hurt on evil enemies.

Human Sorcadin would fit the bill: Pal2/Sorc4/Spellsword1/AbjChamp3

continue AjbChamp+2/SacredExorcist8

Focus on buffing spells. You already get auto-quickened Shield, but some gems like Dragonskin and Fly and Greater Mirror Image will all be helpful!

Instead of Sorc4/SpSwd1, why not just go BttlSorc4 or 5?

Don't get me wrong, I like SpSwds, but for as martial a build as this is, it would seem the BttlSorc is a more direct path.

And don't forget Stalwart Sorcerer (C.Mage) if you're staying in the Sorc class for any significant length of time, either. +2 hp per sorc level is totally worth one fewer spell known of the highest you can cast. Note that the lost spell known doesn't jump to the next level of spellcasting until you gain the 2nd spell known for that level, so Battle Sorc's lowered spells known progression actually delays the spreading of pain a little.

I do still think doing regular sorc or wiz and jumping ship for Abjurant Champion, Spellsword (1st level only), and/or Eldritch Knight ASAP is the more powerful option, but Stalwart Battle Sorc is defenitely less complicated.

It's not just more direct, it's the spellcasting in armor without ASF (as opposed to a percentage decrease) and the HP boost (like Stalwart).
