Character names from popular music

I've been kicking around a character concept for a while.
He's a former cleric turned rogue named Mike Stipe.
After losing his religon he became a thief, his specialty is hiding in dark corners.
So when the party is looking for him he can just say "That's me in the corner."
He's a shiny happy person.

ROFLMAO

You should do it. If nothing else, to see if anyone catches it.... :p

When I played Shadowrun, I had an elven mage whose streetname was The Edge (lead guitar in U2). He had two contacts to buy magical supplies from: Sahara Jack (from Bon Jovi's 99 In The Shade) and Mustang Sally ("Ride, Sally, Ride!").

As for Shakira, her full name is even better for a character: Shakira Mebarak! Plus she looked better (and did better music) in her early days, with her loooong black hair and moody guitar.

Felina - the mexican girl in the song El Paso saga and one of the longest songs your likely to hear
Whachu talkin' bout, main? El Paso is only 4:40 - I get longer songs with my breakfast cereal. ;) Unless you're adding the 4:12 for the sequel song, "El Paso City"? In which case that's still only 8:52 - shorter than Stairway, or almost anything Meat Loaf ever had a hit with, but respectable. :D

From out of nowhere, Felina has found me
Kissing my check as she kneels by my side
Craddled by two loving arms that I die for
One little kiss and Fel-in-a, goodbye

I do love that song. And its amazing how many people who claim not to like country know that one and "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash, and will sing along. :]

Only Torm would call a character "Macarena"..... :\
I wouldn't, but it is an unusual name, so I included it.

I'd rather roll up "(K)Night Ranger." Motorin'.

Yeah.

Motorin'. :D

Sorry yes I know El Paso and El Paso city aren't all that long. I was in fact referring to the song Felina (a third song in the saga) which iirc is something like 12 minutes - on its own. Apparently Felina was the original mexican song that inspired El Paso (and thus El Paso city) its quite obscure and every time I try to google I get El PAso hits!

But what's a knight ranger? Some kind of multiclass option between fighter and ranger with a focus on mounted combat? A ranger with the cavalier prestige class? I'm not real clear on what kind of character Motorin is.
