Character Theme Songs...

Has anyone heard the song Warriors of The World United by Manowar? This is going to be the theme song of my new campaign, Black Horde. :]

Friend of mine's old D&D group had a bunch of music always in the changer, including the old school 4 disc Star Wars box set that came out about 15 years ago or so. It was always on shuffle and it never failed that the Imperial March would turn up during or just before a combat. So when it hit they would always scramble for their dice cuz they knew they were about to get nailed. Never failed heh.

Friend and I used to make special one night only mix tapes for Vampire games. 90 or 100 minute tapes with a little bit of everything. He had all the soundtracks from tons of movies and I had everything from Prince to KMFDM. Some great tapes.

I was going to run a Vampire: The Masquerade campaign once where the prince of the city was a Malkavian (insane) vampire and INSISTED that each of his vassals compose a music video to play on the Titantron that led into his court. He was convinced that pro wrestling was real and that life revolved around the melodramatic plots seen on WWE Raw and Smackdown.

Sadly, I never got around to running it... would have been fun. Each player would have picked a theme song that would be played whenever they present themselves before the Prince and the Primogen.

I had a RuneQuest character who eventually got to be a Suncarl of Elmal and war-chief of our tribe (the only Rune level character I have ever built up: re-usable Divine Magic rocks the house!). It was generally agreed that his theme music was Open Up Your Heart and Let the Sunshine In.

But mostly my characters seem to have soundtracks by Leonard Cohen.

Occasionally, when in midst battle, I will also insist that the theme from Law and Order be played (straight up... none of this SVU business)...

But, then again, her name is Justice and she is a paladin..

... and I have an irrational love (read, addiction) for Law and Order...

So when you change scenery in your game sessions, do you have one of those "DUN DUN!!!" soundbites ready?

My Midnight PC Jez's theme song was very definitely Blaze of Glory by Bon Jovi.

She died heroically, but not quite in the way she wanted to. :)
