There was at one point, but I don't remember what it is. Sigh, I guess I'll have to think of one...
The tune was good... or at least, it seemed good at the time... it was LATE.

Xath, you should be a famous song writter and make millions of dollars...

I was game mastering when I added an NPC called Edward. A bard...

He had a crystal that allowed him to scry into the past of a place and record illusions of the events.

He liked to edit the illusions... Rebuild them for effect... And then display them behind him on the stage as he performed with his troup.

He got ahold of the PCs and scryed a rather violent battle they had with a minor (and heavily weakend) demigoddess named Plague.

I think the song he did was:

Paladin of justice, Magus of flame;
Priest of light and Warrior of fame.
They go fourth to break evil's reign;
They give heroes a good name.

Kinda freaked out the players to have a rock concert in thier honor. Especially with a 3D video of them trading shots with a goddess being displayed for everyone to see to the beat of the music...

Especially since they were attempting to keep a low profile... :]

I think it's really cool when Bards write songs or actually compose poems for the players that they are with. They don't have to sing them while we play or anything... but, the epic tale of 8 adventurers is always fun!

Also, spell casters that actually write the words to spells with verbal components are really cool.

Just adds something unique to the game... and gives life to the actual casting of the spell/singing of the song..

I think this song fits any warrior people.
DRINK TO THE SWORD
(Chorus)
Let's... drink to the sword that sings merry in battle.
And drink to the foemen who gallantly die.
Let's lift up our horns and drink deep till tomorrow.
Let's drink deep the mead till the barrel runs dry.

And what shall we do when tomorrow comes early?
And what shall we do when tomorrow comes nigh?
We'll take to the longships and set the sail smartly.
We'll take to the longships and set the sail high.

And... (Chorus)

And what shall we do if the north wind is blowing?
And what shall we do if the north wind is tame?
By sail or by oar we will hasten to England
To pillage and plunder for fortune and fame.

And... (Chorus)

And what shall we do if a storm comes a-squalling
With thunder and lightning and rain on the sea?
We'll bail out the water and lift up our voices
And sign with the hammer so Odin will see.

And... (Chorus)

And what shall we do when we land there in England
Beside a tall fortress so strong and so bold?
We'll pound on our shields till the walls are a-crumbling
Then cut down the soldiers and take all the gold.

And... (Chorus)

And what shall we do if the soldiers are many
A thousand or more who will stand unafraid?
We'll sing 'em a song with great smiles on our faces
For we are but merchants who've come here to trade.

And... (Chorus)

This song was written by a man I do not have the luck to have known while he was alive, Ragnar Ulfgarson in the SCA. I consider it the theme song for any warrior I play.

As for my current character, the half sea elf cleric of Deep Sashelas....well, any sea shanty works for him. But especially, the Sailor's Prayer.

The chorus is a prayer I think any sailor should know.

Oh Lord Above, send down a dove,
with beak as sharp as razors
To cut the throat, of them there blokes
who sell bad beer to sailors.

What can I say? Im a SCAdian who loves bardic.

I often build characters based off songs I hear on the radio. For one character I really like, I have more than one song. Which is nothing compared to this other player I know, who has an album devoted to just his one favorite character.

Also build adventures based off songs too.

One of my characters, Pyrus (currently on hiatus), had "House Full of Bullets" by Joe Satriani as his theme song. He "earned" it after he and "his party" mostly killed a Bullette. Truth be told they Bullette almost TPK'd them and they were saved by the City Watch, but that is not how he remembers or tells it :) It's a great "strutting" song with a groove 5 miles wide and twice as deep. Every time he entered a tavern the song played in his head as he scanned the room and let the room of people take in the awesome figure that he struck. Pyrus was somewhat bipolar and when things were going good, he had no lack of confidence.

This has inspired me to find a theme song for my character, a bard who focuses mainly on disguise and deception. I think I really like Elvis Presley's "Devil in Disguise."
