Character Theme Songs...

Hmmm, I remember one Call of Cthulhu party that I realized in the middle of the game had its own theme song...

It was a fairly large group of investigators including a professor, the captain of the ship, his first mate, a dilletante and his wife, and a movie actress... We were only missing Mary Anne to have the entire cast of Gilligan's Island.

Then the ship got wrecked on a South Sea isle and we had to quit right there. We would never have goten off of that island...

I created a paladin with a tiger for a mount.........

Cries of "I have the power" and the music to he-man has haunted me ever since. :)

Our group doesn't necessary have an official song... but, there are two that come to mind...

First, on a good night, Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes.
We have a bit of a tendency to bite off more than we can chew... and somehow, end up successful...

"I'm gonna fight 'em off... a seven nation army couldn't hold me back..."

And, that's totally us...
8 PCs standing in front of a ridiculous army of draconids and undead... good times!

Second, on a bad night, circus music... perfect backdrop to the inevitable "gong show" that we get ourselves into time after time.

The last two weeks, every time we encounter some bad guys, we cue up the battle music from Final Fantasy II...

WILDLY entertaining... I *heart* midi files!

What was Mary Anne anyway? I mean, everyone else had a profession and she was just...Mary Anne.

As for theme songs, we actually chose theme songs for other players' characters in one group and shared the MP3s (before we became law-abiding citizens, that is :uhoh: ). The only one I remember is Back in Black for the evil turncoat PC who was pretending to be a fallen paladin and later became the most annoying reoccurring NPC of all time.

As for my current characters...nope, I'm coming up empty. Not theme-song having sorts, I guess. :\

You're not alone... If someone marked down the time of my posts, they'd see a bunch of "dead zones" that correspond to programming schedule for NBC, TNT and USA. Except Criminal Intent. I don't like that show... Too much focus on just one cop; lost my interest early.

Over the years we've had several theme songs. The furthest back I can remember was somebody starting to sing "Everybody was undead fighting..." although today I don't remember the whole thing.

I always play music at the game, and sometimes a song will stick. One of our current characters begged for about 6 levels to get a magic carpet...so of course Magic Carpet Ride is his song. Our resident Dwarven Monk has created lyrics to most of a song..."I've Got the Magic Fist," a play off of the 50 cent song...

As an aside, check out Midnight Syndicate. Their music is a great mood setter. They did the DND Soundtrack that came out not long ago.
