D&D 5E Characters you never played...

Krakenspire

First Post
As a long time DM I rarely get to play as a PC and over the years have developed a long list of "wish I hadda/can played" characters, which sometimes jump out as NPC but not always.

For 5e I'm finding my list is growing again:

Mountain Dwarf Infernal Bladelock - a Masochistic dark dwarf Brathnar, who came by his warlock powers by "delving to deep and to greedily" into the mountainside. He mined the wrong Khyber Dragonshard and is now possessed by an evil entity that gives him the powers of an infernal warlock. He likes pain as it keeps the entity inside in check. Avoids eldritch blast and goes for the melee related spells with his big axe and chainmail armour. He ran away from the dwarven community before he hurt the love of his life as the entity inside is barely under control...

Tielfing Dragon Sorceress - daughter of a drow merchant and a tiefling jeweller, Celerity is a pitch black tiefling with liquid red eyes who takes after her drow father and travels around as a merchant. She can sell ice to a frost giant, and appraise uncut stones in a twinkling. That being said she has a darker hidden side. Having seen her sister devoured by a dragon she searched for a way to gain enough power to destroy all dragons. Now she devours dragons herself to take their power and use it against them!

Drow Assassin - tall for a male drow, Nokar is a gambler, womaniser and rogue. Often seen with his very large wide brim hat, darkened spectacles sitting in the darkest corner of the saloon playing cards. He has a distinctive wracking cough (which oddly disappears when he's being stealthy) and moved to the surface because of "the better air up here". He speaks with a distinctive southern gentleman accent, and is deadly with the numerous throwing knives (darts) and two large kukri stapped to his back (short swords or scimitars or daggers... don't know yet). This reputation is important as he is an excellent cards player (high bluff and perception/investigation) and he often fleeces the pants off his opponent. (yes he's Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday....)

Male personality Warforged Knight (Battle Master): Seige is exactly what his name is all about. Massive, heavily armoured, with a huge shield and crushing warhammer, Seige is designed for battle in the toughest combats. Fairly innocent (and therefore awkward) when it comes to interactions with others, Siege is always preparing for the next fight and developing new techniques to "destroy his enemies and hear the lamentation of their womenfolk". His other hobbies include sharpening weapons, standing watch, repairing armour and knitting thneeds with steel wool. He approaches most problems by smashing them, unless of course they are wearing the red jersey (Daniel Bateman "The Replacements")...

There are a few more but for these are my top 4.

What are the characters you never played...yet...

Back in 3.5 I wanted to play a lawful good (possibly neutral good depending on DM) Vow of Poverty assassin, dedicated to eradicating evil at all costs, and with complete disregard for social propriety. Very paladin/monk/rogue.

Or, an exploitation ranger, cutting down trees, and using spells to make fur trapping easier. "Mr Bear, do me a favor and go walk over there... ignore the metal thing with teeth on the ground".

Warforged Warlock Mark One aka Mark in 3.5 , more robot than man.

I rather imagine him say seeing his comrades fall whipping out a wand of something and saying an an excited monotone "Terminal condition not acceptable, stabilization protocol initiated." all the while also using his abilities for aerial gunship shenanigans "Fireball online!"

In 5e I've only played the basic set wizard so anything else would be a nice change.

A Deep Dwarf cleric of Pelor - Coming from a very traditional people who pride themselves on living very deep below the highest mountains, his people shun the outside world. His family pride themselves that none of them have been above ground in 5 generations. This guy had cause to see the outside world and fell in love with the sun. He loves the fields, the flowers, the warmth of the sun on his face. He came running back home to tell everybody about how wonderful the outside world is, that they don't need to live underground anymore. He was ostracized and when he would not shut up, his family tried to get rid of him in an honour killing. He survived, but was declared insane by the king's chancellor, thus sparing his family any more blame for his behavior. He was forced to leave and is now travelling the outside world, wishing to one day bring his people into the light of Pelor.

Warforged with gentle soul, programmed to kill - A huge nasty looking warforged (Barbarian or Fighter) who is as gentle as can be. He has a separate brain for combat, sort of a split personality. When his combat sub-routines kick in he is a killing machine. He hates that though, and tries to avoid violence when he can. When he is in combat mode, he is a heartless monster and often does things he regrets afterwards.

Pinnochio - A warforged who is just made from enchanted wood. He grew up as the woodworkers son as per the normal story, but of course he outlived him. Everybody he knows has aged and died, so now he needs to go find his own way in life.

Frankenstien's Monster - I play a Dr Frankenstien character, when he dies, I want to play one of his creations, come to find his "father". A reanimated man, truely alive but looks like a flesh golem, probably using warforged rules and a 4e deva style "memory of 1000 lifetimes" ability.
