Charisma - A Munchkin Paladin's Dream

How many different ways are there of raising one's charisma through items or spells using only WOTC products and what is the highest theoretical bonus from these items and spells?
Is this the same as for other attributes? [That is there is a general enhancement ceiling]

+6 Enhancement and +5 Inherent, unless you break out the Epic Level Handbook, in which case the sky's the limit.

My Half-celestial epic paladin had a 32 or so without any inherent bonuses.

You have to play a high ECL race if you want to try go for higher than the 30's, in which case your character will rather bad at paladinry (though Divine Might can make up for many, many things).

I believe that sums it up for your actual Charisma increases using WotC products. You might be able to devise some items that give you Sacred bonus to Cha or something, but that is a bit iffy. It is basically the same as all the other attributes.

Now, Cha based skill bonuses are a different matter entirely.

whoot. wish can raise your stats. though over 18, the dm (if he isn't a monkey-paw dm) usually house rules it so that you need around 5 wishes to raise it to 19, 10 wishes to 20 and so on. (increments you know). still, be careful how you word it.
and the various tombs are also good. (you know, tomb of health, manual dexterity etc)

Wow, that sounds pretty extreme. I would just keep to the stock rules.

Wishes grant Inherent Bonuses (as do the Tomes/Manuals). 1 Wish for +1, 2 wishes for +2, 3 wishes for +3, 4 wishes for +4, 5 wishes for +5. Inherent bonuses do not stack. So, if you already have a +1, another +1 doesn't do anything for you. So, the most economical way to boost stats with inherent bonuses is to do all +5 at once, and only use 5 wishes. Generally speaking, the wishes must be cast successively. So, you also need a Wizard/Sorceror that has 5 9th level spell slots. Or, maybe a cabal of wizards?

Still, with the experience cost, it is rare for that many wishes to be used.

Or a wizard that scribes a bunch of wish scrolls.

So we are backtracking to 2nd ed now??? ;)

and it doesn't hurt to give your dm the 'puppy-dog eye' look and ask for uber intervention.... though then again. if you have that monkey-paw type dm. run, run, run awaaaayyyyyy.

hmmm sorry about the wish thing. i didn't really know the official increments, but when we tried that (back in the stone age of 2e, that's what happened)

ooo. didn't know the tombs of health and whatnot were in 2e. wouldn't be a stretch to put them in 3.5 format tho.
