D&D 5E Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

Brandes Stoddard has received a copy of Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse (which come out in two weeks!) and is posting loads of photos over on Blue Sky. You can check out his feed for the whole treasure trove--here's a look at the table of contents.

I abhor that they've gone to absolute Alphabetical for the entries. At first I missed there was a Young Time Dragon because it's at the end of the list instead of with the Adult Time Dragon. And the different modrons are scattered throughout the list.
If you note the page numbers, it looks like they're actually grouped in the book by type. Perhaps they've abandoned that experiment in absolute alphabetization after Monsters of the Multiverse.

It's a fair size list - there could always be more, as face it there were 3 Planescape MCs, but looks like they did a good mix of different foes and NPCs worthy of encountering. I'm willing to bet there's a few more (primarily named NPCs, like Morte) in the adventure book.
I think there's a decent chance we'll also see a Planescape Monstrous Compendium on Beyond like we got for Spelljammer and Dragonlance.

Wonder if the Eater of Knowledge will still be tied to Ilsensine; not aware of any references to it in 5E previously (and TBH the idea of illithids having gods in any conventional sense always seemed a little odd to me).

EDIT: I stand corrected, Ilsensine was referenced - and retconned to be less like a god, more like a psionic gestalt - in Volo's. Which is of course non-canon Legacy Content, now. Makes me wonder now if the Eaters will provide an opportunity to re-insert that lore, or make up something new.
There's no canon at all anymore. Just random stuff they think will sell in the moment, with no consistency or sense of history.

Actually, he came up recently:

The BBEG in the Shattered Obelisk is a splinter/aspect/spawn of Ilsensine, and the bad guy cult are Mindflayer heretics who worship it instead, as the book states that Ilsensine abandoned the Far Realm to live in the Outlands.

I doubt they are expecting that the sale of this book hinges on the status of Ilsensine (whatever that is). Rather, my guess is they are doing what they think is cool and good, without forcing themselves to be shackled by prior art.

That is certainly a positive way to look at it. Probably works well if you don't care about what came before.

The gate towns are so close to the border that they take on the "personalities" of the plane they border, which makes a lot of sense. They occasionally fall completely into the neighboring plane when they achieve close to 100%. At that point another town takes its place and is the "personality" factor is significantly lower and then begins to rise as the town moves closer and closer to the outer plane in question.
What does your reply have to with my dislike of the "Chant" speech used in what I quoted?
