D&D 5E Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

Brandes Stoddard has received a copy of Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse (which come out in two weeks!) and is posting loads of photos over on Blue Sky. You can check out his feed for the whole treasure trove--here's a look at the table of contents.

On the Gith are now aberrations theory, it would make sense on some level for that to be true. Their original story was that they were humans captured by mind flayers(powerful aberrations) and became altered by those aberrations into their current form. Perhaps 5e is going back to that history for them.

So instead of taking a page from Star Wars, with a hook that will stand the test of time (Jedi) they are going to try and humanize the Far Realm and soften that a bit?

Honestly, I think the approach they've been taking to psionics is "both/and", not "either/or".

Say what you will about the theming of Aberrant Mind Sorcerer (as of Tasha's - we'll see if it changes in the '24 PHB), but Psi Knight Fighter and Soulknife Rogue are pretty classic "Jedi" psionics.

It's not 25 new Celestial stats (to be far I made up that number) , 3 Guardinals, 3 Archons, 3 Rilmani, Sunflies, Sunfly Swarm, Dabus, Planar Incarnates, Barbiurs, maybe 1 Modron, but that is probably an error. This book has 14 to 15 Celestials.
Check out how many Celeatial star blocks are already in 5E, that's still enormous in relative terms.

There's precedence for a bunch of the more out there concepts of D&D Psionics with it's Psychoportation and Psychometabolism, those are based on Hindu concepts like the Siddhis with things like changing size or accessing anywhere in the world. Ectoplasm is a concept from Victorian mysticism/pseudoscience, and Astral Constructs (and the Astral Self Monk) are Tulpas or Thought Forms.

Getting 200 new stat blocks, no doubt a big chunk are Celestials: I think we will see Ardlings as low Level Celestials. Also a good spot to refresh the Lore.on Eladrin, amd how the Celestials there relate to the Fey and Elves.
I do have wonder if they're going to reprint some statblocks from other books. I could see them not reprinting the guardinals from this book, as the three here aren't particularly iconic like the leonal and the ursinal, but the lantern, hound, and warden archons are pretty iconic. Of course, as you said, finally defining the CG Celestal race for 5e would be very nice as well!

(As for other books, anything outside of MotM is fair game - I would very much like to see the gem dragons finally promoted to the main MM, for example).

I think something like Muses, Charities/Graces, Erotes, or Onieroi, or something that combines them, would make for cool CG Celestials from Mythology.
