Cheesy old genre movies that you like anyway

John Carpenter movies are never cheesy. It was the 80s that were cheesy.

If anyone mentions Big Trouble in Little China, I will... I will... watch every John Carpenter movie I own right now!

the "Trinity" movies (They Call Me Trinity, Trinity Is STILL My Name!, Trinity Rides Again, etc)
My Name is Nobody

Pardon?

I am Italian, and, of course, quite an expert about Bud Spencer (Carlo Pedersoli) and Terence Hill (Mario Girotti) and I'm quite sure there are only two Trinity films, namely "Lo chiamavano trinità" and "Continuavano a chiamarlo Trinità". (well, I don't count "Trinità & Bambino... e adesso tocca a noi", the "sequel" made in 1995, 20 years after the original two, that has in common with them just the director).

Never heard of a "Trinity rides again" or others... :\ :\ :\ :\

It has been ages since I last saw Ice Pirates, and I'd love to watch it again. Does anyone know if it's available on DVD?

Flyspeck23,

Yes, Ice Pirates is available on DVD.

I think Amazon has it but I'm sure you there are others that have it as well...

Thanks. Sadly it seems that the Amazon I'd be ordering it from (amazon.de) hasn't got it :(
Searched for it, and all I got was Ice Age and (funny enough) Monsters Inc.

Then again, there's no need to be sad - as this is my 1000th post :)

 Too true, too true. I was poking around with my wife on the extras for 13 Going on 30 and they had the complete music videos for "Jesse's Girl" and "Love is a Battlefield." Talk about cheese that takes itself seriously...

Sadly, that was pretty par for the course in the 80s. Maybe we were all too scared of apocalyptic nuclear war to take anything else seriously or something.

Well, it has been mentioned several times already in the thread...

And for your other question, I just put Ice Pirates on my Netflix queue, so it's on DVD alright...

Society suffers from serious brainfarts from time to time, but still the 80s are special.
The Cold War might explain it, right.
